Swim Meet Officials Training
Becoming a swim meet official is a fantastic opportunity to support the Brookdale Bucs Swim Team while gaining a deeper understanding of competitive swimming—and no prior meet official or competitive swim experience is needed!
Parent volunteers serve as meet officials for both our home and away meets, playing a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of each event. As a meet official, you’ll help ensure swimmers are following the basic guidelines for the events they’re participating in. The roles that meet officials serve in include Announcer, Starter, Turn Judge, Stroke Judge, and Backup.
The Naperville Swim Conference offers a two-hour in-person training on May 7, May 14 and May 17, where you’ll learn everything you need to know to become an NSC-certified meet official. The best part?
- The NSC officials training counts toward a portion of your family’s job requirement for the season!
- You’ll get advance sign-up for meet official jobs for the season, helping you secure your preferred dates and roles.
- You’ll be closer to the action on-deck, watching the races up close and contributing to the smooth operation of meets.
It’s a great way to support the swimmers and the sport, all while fulfilling your volunteer duties for the season. If you’re interested in becoming a Bucs meet official please complete this form and our Head Official, Craig Louden, will provide more details on how!
